Optime

Your laptop, looked after.

Optime runs quietly in the background on Windows. It ends programs you don't need, trims startup apps, clears out junk and keeps you online. It writes down the reason for everything it does, and anything it ended can be brought back with one click.

For Windows 10 and 11. 7-day free trial, then from $9.99 a month plus tax. Cancel any time.

  1. Kept Microsoft Teams. You open it every weekday morning.
  2. Ended a leftover printer helper. Using 410 MB with no window, and you haven't printed in a month.
  3. Turned off a game launcher at startup. It slowed sign-in and you start it yourself when you play.
  4. Eased Windows Update. It installs in the background while your apps go first.
  5. Switched to your phone's hotspot. The office Wi-Fi dropped; you stayed online.
  6. Switched back to the office Wi-Fi. It was in range again, so the hotspot is off.
  7. Asked you about a new app you installed. New things always get your OK first.

What Optime takes care of

Everything below happens on its own. You can see what was done, and why, on the Dashboard at any time.

Background programs

Ends programs running without a window that use a lot of memory or processor time. Apps you have open, or have used in the past week, are left alone.

Background services

Stops services that Windows or other software started and you don't use. With Full control on, this takes one Windows permission, once, and you can turn it off any time.

Startup apps

Turns off apps that start with Windows but you don't need, so your laptop is ready sooner after you sign in. Nothing is uninstalled.

Windows updates

Keeps your laptop responsive while updates install, by letting your apps go first.

Junk files and disk health

Clears temporary files and browser caches once a week, and checks your disk's health.

Wi-Fi to hotspot

If the Wi-Fi you're on drops or its internet stops, anywhere, Optime connects to your phone's hotspot. It stays on the hotspot until a Wi-Fi your laptop already knows is in range, like your home network when you get back, and then moves you to it. You can turn the hotspot off yourself any time to save your phone's data.

Battery

Tells you when the battery is full so you can unplug, loudly through the speakers, or at your own volume if headphones are in.

Daily health report

A short daily summary of what Optime did and how your laptop is doing, saved where you choose.

Never touched: Windows itself, your antivirus, and your hardware's own helpers for sound, graphics, touchpad, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

It asks only when you'd want a say

Optime doesn't bother you with every decision. There are just three moments when it waits for you.

  1. 1

    On first run

It shows everything it found, each with a one-line reason, and waits for your OK.

  2. 2

    When you install something new

New apps always get your OK first. Things already on your laptop are handled for you.

  3. 3

    Once more, a week later

If you bring something back and then don't use it for a week, Optime asks you one time whether to end it.

My Choice

Everything you chose to keep or brought back. Optime never ends these on its own.

Questions

Windows says "Windows protected your PC". Is Optime safe?

Yes. Windows shows this for new apps from independent developers that haven't been downloaded many times yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. The message will go away as more people install Optime.

How does the free trial work?

Every plan starts with 7 days free. You add a payment method at checkout, but nothing is charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.

How do I cancel?

Use the link in your purchase email to manage or cancel your subscription at any time. If you're unhappy after your first paid charge, ask within 14 days for a full refund. See the refund policy.

Can I undo something Optime did?

Yes. Open the Review tab, tick it under Ended by Optime and press Restore selected. Nothing is ever uninstalled or deleted.

How often will it ask me things?

Rarely. It asks on first run, when you install something new, and once about anything you brought back but haven't used for a week. Everything else it handles itself.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Without internet, Optime uses its built-in rules and switches back to AI mode when it can. It needs to check your license at least once every 7 days.

What happens when I get a new laptop?

On the old laptop, open License & Reports and click Deactivate this device. Then enter your key on the new one. No need to contact us.

Does it run on Mac?

Not yet. Optime runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

What does Optime send over the internet?

Your license check, and in AI mode the names and usage of background programs it needs to judge. Never your files, documents, messages, passwords or browsing. The privacy policy has the details.
